For Portland's 2013 - 2014 World Naked Bike Ride almost 10,000 cyclists rode more or less naked through our city. In 2015 the official count was 100 more than 10,000 riders.
In 1984, he who controlled the past controlled the future.
By 2014, in this consumer society, the past was only relevant if it could be repurposed or remade as entertainment. Now, he who controls the FUN controls the future.
Convincing the young that biking is more fun than driving—
that was the great political accomplishment of our bicycle activists.
